District 2
Albany and Carbon Counties Term 2007 - 2013 Peggy Colson was born and raised in Carbon County, growing up in Sinclair, and graduating from Rawlins High School. Her college education includes course work in Early Childhood Development and fine art, and she has run a highly successful business as a child care provider and preschool director/teacher for 21 years. Peggy has also worked for the Department of Family Services and the Carbon County School district. She and her husband Jerry have been married for 26 years, and have three children, Jenileah and her husband Thor, Matt, who served in the Air Force and is now a full time Police Officer in Cheyenne, and Ashlea, who is at the University of Wyoming majoring in pre-vet.
Peggy is an accomplished artist - watercolor is her first choice - but also painted a 8' by 40' mural on display in downtown Rawlins. She and Jerry love camping and fishing in Wyoming, and spend a lot of each summer in the Snowy Range. Regarding her work on the WWNRT Board, Peggy says simply, “I love Wyoming’s wildlife and the vastness of the ranges and mountain areas we have the advantage to see, and I am passionate about their preservation.”
